Collias benefits from its proximity to the river Gardon. Highly popular with tourists, Collias was reputed for its picholine variety of olives and as a silk-producing community. Nowadays it is especially renowned for the wide array of water sports it offers, notably swimming and canoeing, as well as for being a central point for superb walking circuits. The listed site of l’Ermitage retains remnants dating back to the Paleolithic era, notably caves which were used as dwellings.
Idyllic walks (out of season) will enable you to explore the listed nature reserve of the Gardon Gorges.
