A charming village clinging to the side of a hill, Rochefort is - like Saze, its immediate neighbour - a very active village which organises a great many sporting and cultural events. From the parvise of Le Castelas, the village's twelfth century Romanesque church, you can enjoy superb panoramic views over the plain and the whole area.
There is also a superb vista from the site of the Sanctuary of Notre-Dame de Grâce, set on a hill outside the village. Built in the eighth century and extended during the seventeenth century, this sanctuary was inhabited by Benedictine monks until the French Revolution. It is a magical venue which welcome groups or individuals interested in a religious retreat.
